I try not to think too much about what might happen because it is usually a case of nothing happens at all, or it is worse then I might have imagined. Still, I think that we all have a tendency to over analyze a situation, and end up wasting too much energy and losing to much sleep over things that we cannot control.
Even if these things were within our control, we would be worrying about the outcome or what other people may be thinking. There is one thing for certain though, I have never been too worried about what other people were thinking. As a matter of fact, the number of people that I know whose opinion that I give enough credence to worry about, number less than ten, and I know a lot of people, so the only thing left to do is to just go on with the rest of my life, not that I have much choice in the matter but to do otherwise.
Now where is all of this leading to, well I am really not all that sure, but the one thing that I know for sure is that there are times when I think that the world would be a lot better place if we all stuck to the things that we know that we can control, in our own lives, and live and let live, it would all be what it needs to be.
Now there just might be those amongst all of you that are thinking, that there are times when we will need to take a stand for something, even if it seems that taking that stand may mean making a few enemies, but it is all a case of knowing when and what battles that need to be fought. I know this to be tur in my own life.
As Abraham Lincoln put it, “To sin by silence when they should protest makes cowards of men.” Not that I am putting myself in the same class as President Lincoln, but it seems to be the thing that sums up what I am trying to say at the moment.
Sorry, I didn’t mean to preach, but I guess that it is still true though, that if you speak without thinking, then you find out what is really on your mind. So pardon me whilst I step down off of my soapbox.
It’s all good. So it goes. Press on regardless.
