The the way that things are looking at work right now, it looks as if my next day off will be the following week and God only knows what they that's going to be so right now it looks as if it's going to be at least nine days in a row between days off. I've done longer stretches between days off but the way that is looking right now and nine is going to be the minimum.
I know that I should be thankful that I have a job, but it's hard to be thankful when you're working at a job where you are understaffed overworked underpaid and not appreciated. And the only thing that were being told by the powers that be is to work harder. Another one of their favorite expressions is work smarter not harder in my response to that is how are we supposed to work smarter when working harder isn't good enough.
I understand that there are people waiting for an opening, and the company that I work for I fear as developed a reputation for not treating its employees very well and having them, because of the shortage of manpower working anywhere from 9 to 21 days in a row. And they're wondering why morale is less than stellar.
And of course they could not have picked a worse time to do a remodel in my Department, and doing it overnight would make too much sense but they're not simply because they do not want to pay the overnight premiums to have all the work done overnight when there's no one in store. So the money they're saving by not paying the premium they're losing in sales so there being penny wise but pound foolish.
So this is where I am at right now at least is forthright life out in the real world is going. I suppose it could be worse, it could always be worse.
It’s all good. So it goes. Press on regardless.
